Add ability to hide/mask fields in a work item based on security/permissions
Currently you can make work item fields READ-ONLY for certain groups of users. We would like to have the ability to hide fields or to mask the value of the field as well based on security permissions.
For example we require our PM's, Dev's and QA's to enter time estimates for enhancements and defects. These are values that we don't want our Sales/Consulting teams and potentially End-Users from seeing.

add folders for build definitions in Team Explorer
I would like to have folders for my build definitions in Team Explorer that allow me to organize and apply batch updates to several definitions at once. I could apply security to the various folders which would be inherited by the build definitions underneath. Batch updates could include regular expression modification of the build definition names, workspace folders, drop locations, and/or projects to build.

Versioning of Work Items
Work Items currently already have revisions saved and make them visible by looking at the history tab, however this should be a first class feature. Allow users to navigate back and forth in time, compare versions and most importantly, let work item template editors specify which attribute and state machine changes trigger a major (x.) or minor (.y) change. For example changes to the 'Description' field in our environment always causes a major change from e.g. 1.0 (or 1.1, 1.2 etc) to 2.0. Same goes for status state changes from 'In Review' to 'Released'.

Provide TF build activities like "deploy web app", "deploy database", or "copy file"
Currently, to get these features into a CI build, we have to pass a lot of MS Build properties around. Having gone through the trouble of creating my own templates to handle these features, it would be nice to see them included out of the box.

Working Hours and Days Off to be entered in User Profile
Adding working hours and days off to the user profile will allow members to take responsibility of their working hours, making capacity planning easier.
A project administrator may also need to be able to update these for a user, for cases of unexpected absence, etc...
263 votesGood suggestion. We have this on our backlog. It will be ineteresting how many votes this one gets to see how much we should move it up in priority.

Move workitem between team projects
make it easy to split team projects into multiple team projects, moving work items between them.

Ability to constrain linked work items based on rules/conditions
For example, I want to prevent the creation of Sprint Tasks before a Product Backlog Item is ready for development, assigned to a Sprint, contains a description, and is prioritized.

Integrate Office365 and TFS Preview
Please integrate TFS Preview and Office 365 better, considering that an organization that is interested in TFS Preview (hosted TFS in general) will be likely to be using Office 365.
Integration should include:
- Authentication - users should be able to use their Office365 accounts and not only LiveID.- SharePoint site integration - from TFS Preview let me configure a site that I can host file sharing from, including the ability to use Office 365 as a SharePoint source. Administrative functionality should be included provided the user has the ability to administer Office365.
- SharePoint site integration, storyboarding -…

ability to add multiple activities per team member in sprint
I really like the new feature (may be) in TFS where you can add capacity in the sprint which estimates work by activity.
currently a developer can spend 2/3 of this time in development and 1/3 in bug fixing(testing). so, i would like to see two/more entries per team member to divide their capacity across different activities and properly track the project activities (dev, test, requirements etc etc)
hope you got what I am trying to say.
207 votesWe considered this item, and decided it was a low priority feature. I will be watching closely whether this item receives a lot of votes.
Thanks for sharing the idea.

Built-in support for NuGet packages
Build definitions should be able to query (customizable) NuGet feeds (HTTP/HTTPS) & download packages referenced by the solution(s) - as we don't want them in source control (setting?).
In addition, build definitions should be able to create, push & publish packages to any NuGet feed.
This should be possible and configurable out-of-the-box, without any customization.205 votes.

Allow to move more than one file at once in TFS source control
It is currently only possible to move files one by one in TFS source control, which means that it takes a lot of time to move several files from one place to another place. It would be great if one could select multiple files and move them to another place at once.

Make TFS more Audit Friendly
We have outside auditors come in and they want to see stuff like who gave Jerry Project admin rights and when and how long did he have it? Items like that It would be nice to find info like that. It would also be nice to be able to export all of the users of a project in the groups that they are in.

Visualize the rights of a user/group on all different aspects of a Team Project
You can set rights in TFS on a lot of different levels. On Team Project, Area/ Iteration/ Team Queries, Source Control/ Folders/ Files, Builds / Reports / SharePoint. Especially in TFS with different TFS groups that sometimes contain the same users/groups, it is hard to see why a user has a specific right or is not allowed to do something. At the moment it is hard to find this without checking everything manually.

Centralized Build View & Management
Create an interface to centrally view and manage builds for administrators. As an admin that manages builds across team projects, I find it tedious that I have to navigate to each Team Project’s Build Explorer to see current build activity. It makes it even worse that you force each Build Explorer to open in the same VS Window.
Minimally, the interface would be the current Build Explorer without the Team Project filter, thus allowing admins to have a central view of build activity. Ideally, it would be a similar interface that allows for a centralized build activity view and also…

Add a report that shows the age of pending changes
This would show which files are currently checked out and how long they have been checked out. Would improve transparency within teams to see how long developers are going without checking in code.

TFS to merge multiple, non-continuous changesets.
It would be very useful if TFS has the ability to merge multiple, non-continuous changesets in a single operation.
This would eliminate the need to create too many branches for each development project.164 votes -
Implement indexed full-text search of work items, check-in comments and source
TFS stores a tremendous amount of text, but finding what you are looking for with the built-in tools is not very easy. The work item query editor follows the old structured approach - which is good for some things - but is clumsy for full-text, unstructured searches. Check-in comments are even more problematic.
Imagine a search engine that crawls the full TFS content, with simple scoping (project/folder and item type) that instantly finds changesets, work items and source code. The web frontent should have a very familiar "web search engine" style, but it should also be possible to perform these…162 votesThanks for the feedback. The web access site for TFS 2010 features a search box for work items. The work item search box has been added into the product for the next version of Visual Studio. As BertrandH notes, there’s a third party plug-in that adds a search box for work items to VS 2010. Our official powertools for VS 2010 also recently released with a work item search box added in: http://visualstudiogallery.msdn.microsoft.com/c255a1e4-04ba-4f68-8f4e-cd473d6b971f.
We continue to look into a comprehensive search solution for all artifacts in TFS besides just work items.

Provide the ability to convert a work item to a different type
...for example, change an existing work item from an Issue to a Bug, etc.
Users less familiar with the system frequently enter work items using the wrong work item type. Currently, you can't fix these items.
