Custom TFS Data Warehouse samples & guidance
I'd like to have TFS Report customization guidance. I get a lot of requests from project management, program management from my projects, but also on StackOverflow and MSDN forums for information on how to extend the TFS datawarehouse.
Guidance should include:
- Storing data from the build process in custom IBuildInformation/IBuildInformationNode
- Creating a custom IDataWarehouseAdapter which reads from the build details
- Creating a custom IDataWarehouseAdapter which reads from external data sources
- Guidance on extending the snowflake data model efficiently
- Customizing existing TFS reports to add custom data
- Creating custom TFS reportsPossible sample project(s):

Refresh the Team Development with Microsoft Visual Studio TFS book
Refresh the Team Development with Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server book (ISBN 978-0-7356-2571-6), bringing it in line with the latest patterns and strategies for TFS 2012 on premise and in-the-cloud.
Why is it needed and what are the preferred formats (eBook, book). Should it be a reference book that ties all the treasure together from MSDN/DPE/Rangers/P&P/Other? Should it be story based, i.e. Dave, the dev lead, says that he needs to implement TFS in his organization … now what? Should it be a cookbook? Or a combination thereof?

Practical guidance for customers around ALM for SharePoint application development
I (Eric Charran) think we have an opportunity to put together some really good guidance for customers around ALM for SharePoint application development like we did back in 2007. What I think we need to address are questions around the following:
1. How do I do a daily build, deployment and test for a provider/auto-hosted (Azure) application (CI)?
2. How do I do a daily build and test and code management for napa applications in O365?
3. How can I do unit, systems, integration testing across service boundaries, interfaces and cloud boundaries?10 votesUnder review by ALM Rangers.

Even more build guidance
I think we should enhance the guidance covering more areas like:
- incremental builds
- hints on relations between builds and branches
- packaging vs deploy
- using LabMan for deploy
- build chaining7 votes -
Add a uservoice.com integration services
Hi,
Loving the uservoice.com service, it would be great to have a tools to get bugs and feedback in our tfs backlog after validation (and completion).
The tfs customer feedback functionnality/app is a great idea but an app deployment is not an acceptable solution for most.Best Regards

As a trainer, administrator and ALM professional it would be great to have one integrated utility to setup a TFS instance quickly
The ALM Rangers have the TfsTeamTool Quick Response Sample, a tool from Tarun which adds some additional features, the Scrum Robot which Richard Hundhausen uses with a collection of batch files and scripts for the PSD.NET training course. And my personal additions for setting Team and Personal profile pictures.
It would be valuable to consolidate these into a single well organized set of commands that can be used to quickly setup a demo or trainign environment.

Provide a way of exporting or converting webtestresult files to text
Understanding web test results and finding dynamic data is hard work. The search facilities within Visual Studio 2012 are primitive when looking at web test results. There are no options for annotating a result file to remind oneself of what has been found and can be ignored, found and may be relevant etc.
It would be nice to have a textual form of the whole of the web test result file that can be examined with ones favourite text editor and where annotations etc can easily be added.
Possibly the output should be XML to allow easy recognition of the…

Installer, deployment, end-to-end monitoring guidance
We need a set of best practices, recommendations around modern applications about installer, deployment preparations and end-to-end monitoring and maintenance. All this supported with existing ground technologies of VS/TFS and other supporting technologies.
