      • Android with Visual Studio

Why cannot Visual Studio program for Android? I know that is a Google mark but... it could be very very useful to Microsoft. Just think that Eclipse is very very heavy as application and Visual Studio could program using C# or (I'm optimistic) VB.Net .. What do you think about it?

        • Support Silverlight 3 in Visual Studio 2012

We have large sharepoint project in Visual Studio 2010 and we wold like to migrate in into VS 2012 but it is impossible. We are using Silverlight 3 class libraries as shared dll across our solution. These dlls are used in sharepoint code, services, and clients.

We cannot use Portable library because it support only .net 4.0 and sharepoint support 3.5. So either support .net 3.5 in portable libraries or silverlight 3 in VS 2012

          • YAML "in addition to" JSON

YAML is recursive acronym of "YAML ain't a markup language"

            YAML specs: http://www.yaml.org/spec/
            File extension: .yml or .yaml

            Why YAML:

Microsoft was backing XML, while the whole (other) world moved from XML to JSON (a key-value pair format with less footprints and noise). Microsoft was _still_ backing XML while the rest of the world move from JSON to YAML (another key-value pair format with minimalistic footprints and noise).

All those folks suggesting "JSON is new XML" must be living in pervious century: JSON is OLD XML and YAML is new JSON!

In VS2013 Update 2, Visual studio team (with WebDev)…

It would be great if you added a SVN support! Git is great, but still a lot of use SVN everyday. Thanks!

              • Upgrade Visual Studio to native x86_64-bit code.

Get rid of thunking issues, dual DLLs, remoted debugging required, and 32-bit default project nonsense. Upgrade the package to native 64-bit.
In the modern 64-bit desktop computer world, 32-bit apps are woefully inadequate and archaic. Show a little innovation and keep up with tht times. Raw GUI performance is not everything these days, that is really lame excuse not to rebuild for 64-bit.

                • Windows RT

Windows RT needs an IDE that will enable developers to create and test metro applications on the devices they will be used for. A simplified version of Visual Studio with full capability to design Metro Apps would make Windows RT a more appealing choice for developers.

                  • Add support of MS-RPC into C# - generate C# from IDL

As C++ developer I can use MS-PRC to build local IPC scenarios.
As C# I cannot use WCF to build local IPC scenarios because it is to big and slow for local IPC.
As C# and C++ integrator I cannot use Out of Process COM because it s design enforces one approach and prohibits fast early binding registration free any threading model development.
As C# and C++ integrator I want to use MS-RPC in C# compatible with C++.
I cannot use other techs than MS-RPC or COM because only this techs provide fastest connection above internal ALPC port.

Many companies use Jira and having a pain free transition process would enable them to move quickly to a far superior solution!

                        • LinqToRDF

Semantic applications using "big data" are undoubtedly the next frontier in application development. Web standards like RDF/OWL/SPARQL are here to stay and are mature enough to start developing intelligent tooling support if MS is to stay relevant in what is known at "Web 3.0" or the "Semantic Web".

IMO, the single most important aspect of this is picking up where the LinqToRDF project left off and enabling LINQ querying on a SPARQL compatible endpoints.

LinqToRDF also provided a VS designer experience but unfortunately is highly outdated with support for only Visual Studio 2008.

Please start building tooling/frameworks to make development…

                              • Add Lua Support

Since Lua is a widely used scripting language, and is often used with languages in the .NET framework/supported by Visual Studio, it would be nice if Visual Studio also had Lua Support.

Syntax highlighting and some intellisense would be most helpful. Debugging, and some error highlighting would be nice, but not necessary.

                                • Add support for Java

There are a lot of people that know Java and are not fond of c++ or c#, like me. Right now I am aware that you can make simple applications with Java in Visual Studio, but that is very hard to do. I think there should be direct support to Java in Visual Studio, there would be a lot of people that would benefit from this.

                                    • make Visual Studio 2012 actually compatible with Windows 7 64bit.

Make Visual Studio Professional 2012 compatible with Windows 7 64 bit. After the hour + install and reboot Windows refused to launch Visual Studio 2012 Professiona. saying that it has "known incompatibilities" with my operating system (windows 7).

Really?! WTF? I can see if I was using XP but Windows 7?

                                      • Add PHP to Visual Studio

Even dough PHP is not a Microsoft Language, The IDE could be working for it and generating Microsoft an Income.
