  1. Tool to change (localdb)\v11.0 to localhost on the Webconfig before publish in a Hosting

    migthy be usefull to have a application tool to support the change from (localdb)\v11.0 to localhost.... on the Webconfig after finish the changes on your local project and before to publish into the hosting wwwroot. i.e, that you can work on the server via SSME and /or connected remotely via Server explorer for your SQLDB and then runn locally in your computer using the string connection for localdb on Gridview application as an example. • Add new operator (&_) to insert vbCrLf between concatenated strings

      A line such as the following is tedious to write, and not so easy to read:

      txtAll.Text = strPrompt & vbCrLf & strInfo1 & vbCrLf & strInfo2

      I would love to see:

      txtAll.Text = strPrompt &_ strInfo1 &_ strInfo2

      • Class Segments Categorization

        While defining class you all must have seen that a class developed by you or prebuild class have many;
        1. Member Variables
        2. Properties
        3. Functions and Methods
        4. Events
        5. and many more new concepts.

        I know that while coding wherever I use an object name with a period system (.) shows me a list of available members listing. But I would suggest that it would be much better if we could do something like following;

        <ObjectName>. Constants
        Properties
        Events
        Functions
        Methods

        Here after the object name is type and period system is used then there must list of…

        • Include Web Performance Test in Visual Studio Premium edition

          Provide Web Performance and Load Tests with Visual Studio Premium edition. Since most Application Development Microsoft Partners are eligible for Visual Studio Premium edition, but not Ultimate edition, it is unfair to exclude the ability to create web performance and load tests for development teams that are creating products on the Microsoft platform since all well-written products should be able to determine whether their products can handle sufficient load and are scalable.

          • make IntelliSense list Exceptions when the "throw" statement is typed

            It would be really useful if, when a programmer types "throw new" in the editor, intelliSense offers a list of available exceptions based on the using statements in the current code. Expanding this list to the current Referenced Modules using a special IntelliSence Hotkey would be even more useful.

            Often I am looking for the most appropriate existing Exception to throw and end up duplicating exceptions when an existing one exists or using the generic Exception, which is just dreadful.

            • Make the refactor preview reference changes dialog remember its size and have a better default size

              The refactor preview window default size is too small to be much use, and although it's resizable it doesn't remember its size, which means you have to resize it each time you use it. :(

                • Bring Back Undo Pending Changes to Solution Explorer Context Menu

                  Why check in changes and undo changes was removed from the solution explorer context menu in the first place is baffling. It is used frequently and is in the same vein as check in so it belongs on the context menu.

                  • Use space before closing slash in XML comments

                    When I type "<s" in an XML comment and press enter, it replaces it with <see cref=""/>. I would rather have a space before the closing slash, i.e., <see cref="" />. I always have to go back in and add it.

                    Microsoft should be consistent with the space before the closing slash. For example, if I run this code:

                    System.Xml.Linq.XDocument.Parse("<a/>").ToString()

                    I get "<a />". The comments are XML, XML should be formatted identically everywhere.

                    • Collapse to Regions only

                      In VS2010, I could do Edit | Stop Outlining, close the file, and re-open it, and only the regions would be collapsed, nothing else.

                      In VS2012 and VS2013 this doesn't work anymore, but if I close the solution and delete the *.SUO, and reopen the project, all my regions are collapsed but nothing else.

                      Collapse every block is too much, and Collapse To Definitions is too much as well. Collapse to Regions is just right for me.

                      Could we have an IDE feature to just do what deleting the *.suo does?

                      • Allow functions to be defined outside of class scope

                        Pretty self-explanatory. Sometimes I have a function I want to be able to call and creating a static class to host it in is an irritating piece of ceremony that I don't need except to satisfy the language constraint. It would be nice if I could simply declare a function as a member of a namespace and invoke it whenever.

                              Enhance the v2 and then the v3 ALM Readiness Treasure Map. Consider a v3 to implement features mentioned as vNext in http://blogs.msdn.com/b/willy-peter_schaub/archive/2013/08/03/alm-readiness-treasure-map-v2-1-and-vnext-feature-triage.aspx.

                              If you feel that the team should continue its showcase, readiness and dog-fooding project with a v4, then donate your vote(s) to this idea.

                                • Add @Team Micro to queries

                                  Would like the ability to add an @Team micro to be able to use a generic query that will bring up the workitems based on the team you are accessing.

                                  Workaround is to create a specific team folder and query but would rather one set of queries using an @Team micro

                                  There are notes of an @team micro but the functionality doesn't seem to work as intended (see attachment)

                                  • When creating variables, add "protected" instead of "private" keyword, if the class is not sealed.

                                    I often use the Ctrl+Dot quick menu to create variables and properties. It would be nice if variables were marked "protected" instead of "private" unless the class is sealed.

                                    It would also be nice if they were inserted directly above the current method, rather than after the last variable or property, as I group things together using #region

                                    • FileSystem: Add Rename() and overload Move() for "overwrite if exists"

                                      1- Implement File.Rename(); which throw System.IO.IOException if file with new extension exists.

                                      2- In multithread applications, the following may fail as a result of race condition:

                                      If destinationFile Exists: Delete(destinationFile)
                                      Then oldFile.Move(destinationFile)

                                      Please implement overloaded Move(), like Copy(), with "overwrite if exists" Boolean flag.

                                      • Allow users to customise the colors displayed on the TFS 2012 Agile Kanban boards. They are difficult to read with a lot of data

                                        Please refer to the thread I posted on MSDN, it explains it all in greater detail:

                                        http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/f6c9af99-3f35-4ffc-8719-2401272022c9/how-to-customise-the-kanban-backlog-board-and-graph-colors-in-tfs-2012

                                        At the moment with a lot of States the graphs and display just show in numerous shades of blue making it difficult to read

                                        • Unify VS Express editions into a single product

                                          Why do we need separate express edition for single development goal? Unify them to single Express edition allowing Windows, Desktop, Web and Phone development.

                                          It is so bad that current Express edition even don't allow easy participation in MS Open Source initiative because plenty of solutions cannot be opened in single Express version - you need multiple versions opening the same solution to work on all projects. Simply great development experience …

                                          Different Express editions also contain different features. For example VS 2012 Express for Windows didn't contain support for T4 while other versions did.

                                          Add support for portable class…
