I suggest you ...

Buy JetBrains and incorporate Resharper

JetBrains make Visual Studio a better app. Either learn from them, license from them, or buy them.

Jet Brains has created and is constantly updating an add-in, ReSharper, that is adding great value to the VS-using community, as are other similar businesses. It's a good symbiotic relationship; no sense messing with it.

No, that's a terrible idea! You've seen how bad VS is, so you don't want MS getting their hands on ReSharper and messing that up. Though I'm all for MS doing a deal to get a free ReSharper license with VS - just as long as Jetbrains keep developing it!

There's also VisualAssistX which I hear is better for C++ where the stuff is really needed. The most used stuff should be built in to the IDE, if people want plugins with bells and whistles, let them add them.

jetbrains is not the best tool out there, but some of the refactoring options could be added to visual studio for sure.

What for? And other users that don't like Resharper and/or like other tools better?
