save files .doc, .xls, .pdf, etc... in sql server
have a business type to save files in sql server. just as is done in the accesss data base

It is important to be able to save the files in web applications as well. Hope ls based on sl 5 will allow that.

Have you seen this? You can use the Document Toolkit extension to upload files as well as view them on LightSwitch screens:
