More efficient editing
We very much miss a context menu with the option to copy or move highlighted text by right-dragging the text to the cursor position. This function was extremely useful in VC6 and saved us hundreds of hours. When we want to insert text which is similar to a previous line, for example, we used to copy a variable, for example, to the clipboard.
We would then insert the variable from the clipboard, highlight the code we want to insert after the variable and right-drag it to the correct position. When the right button was released we could select copy or move from the context menu. The contents in the clipboard would remain in tact so we could repeat the operation as many times as we want. We really miss this function since VC6 and keep hoping it will re-appear.
Simply right-dragging text with the context menu is also more efficient than copy/paste. We don't understand why Microsoft wants us to spend longer in editing our code. Please give us back this excellent function.
Did you know that when you hold Ctrl key while drag and dropping, you will get the drag and drop copy function that you seek?
Here is another tip: you can have rectangular selections by holding the Alt key while selecting text. There are many hidden gems in this IDE.
