  There is no timer in visual studio 2012.

  DatePicker,TimePicker and Tab Controls are missing. These are basic controls using in any application.

  date control is a basic control needed for any type of app. |s there any reason behind for missing it in xaml? else is there any other way to include it

  There's isn;t one bundled with the sdk, but you can find a XAML/C# version from windows8datecontrol.com

  There's a small fee but it saved me a load of development time! It doesn't look too bad either.

  Date, Time and DateTime Pickers are very important to Windows Store Apps and will be often used!

  Please add these controls. Buying things like this from 3rd parties (no matter how good they may be) just isn't an option for many people, and some people don't want to buy a Date/Time Picker when that is something that has always been, and should always be natively supported.

  How is a date time picker and a calendar control still missing? These are basic controls need for any type of business app. Please start working on this immediately!

  I should be focusing on developing the application but it seems like I am having to reinvent the wheels myself because the fundamentals are not available. This would definitely lead to inconsistent datetime pickers by each developer. Forget about using Telerik as we are not going to be forking out $$$ for just a date-time picker.

  I wonder why it is not there. It is present in javascript type control. It is not good to create one ourself using comboboxes in xaml
