We need a 64 bit of VS, If 32 bit VS debugging performance for 64 bit app cannot be improved.
64 bit had become popular for a long time. We all need it. Debugging is very important for each developer. We debugging many many times each day, we cannot suffer from the poor performance of remote debugger simulation (MSVSMON.exe) even we are debugging a local 64bit app.
Debugging performance, especially remote debugging performance has been improved in Visual Studio 2012.

I waste a lot of time waiting on the debugger. Please, please improve the performance of 64-bit remote debugging (and local!).

would be nice to get past the 2GB memory barrier, rewrite VS to run in native 64-bit

i doesn't mean we must have a 64 bit version VS. If we can improve the performance of debugging 64 bit app in 64 bit OS. It is also ok. The software design trend has changed to "save energy" in recent years. The main reason of VS was popular in software development is its development efficiency. But the slow performance for debugging is depart from this trend and MS vision. MS has lost a lot in the recent 10 years and shouldn't waste its customer's patience again. 64 bit had become popular for a long time.
No paces or paces slowly is a kind of backward. Most of the changes between the VS editions are about windows version iteration. If this cannot be changed, one day MS will lost windows too.
