Please add ways to trouble shoot the Application Insights Issue: "I don't see my data"
There are several scenarios that make it difficult to trouble shoot data not appearing in Application Insights...please add diagnostics/UI to help in these situations

It would be very helpfull to have a 'visible' page on https://dc.services.visualstudio.com; confirming the server has basic access to the service. Currenty the above returns a 403 (which is ok for me, but not as nice as 'Hey, you can access the Application Insights backend- go... to view your data'...

This is great input. We have been making quite a few changes to address this. In the past few sprints, we have improved how portal detect whether or not you have data. Each tab like Server Performance, Availability, and Usage will show a configuration experience if you don’t have any of this data coming through.
However, sometimes there are other issues. Here a set of resources I use to help me when things don’t seem to be working. For the Agent, Charles Sterling has posted a great entry on the ALM Blog on troubleshooting the MMA agent.
We have also added some trouble shooting sections to the documentation. Scroll down to the bottom in the Troubleshooting sections of these links to see if this type of information is helpful.
