  1. Edit and Continue: Allow Edit and Continue x64 under local IIS

    https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/content/idea/351308/edit-and-continue-allow-edit-and-continue-x64-unde.html
Edit and Continue x64 is an outstanding addition to Visual Studio 2013. Unfortunately, I tend to use the full IIS server on my local machine for debugging, but the Edit and Continue option becomes disabled as soon as I change from "IIS Express" to "local IIS".

The error message states that changes are not allowed "when the debugger has been attached to an already running process", which I assume is because the IIS Application Pool (running as w3wp) is already running when debugging…

Resolve the HAXM <--/--> Hyper-V conflict, so that Android development with the new Android Emulator feature can be done with an accelerated native VM instead of emulated which is slow.

        https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/content/idea/351281/support-natvis-debug-visualizers-in-mixed-mode-deb.html
Please user our .natvis files when debugging in Mixed mode. They are not used (as of VS 2013 Preview). We have a C++/CLI application with many native and many /clr files and cannot use the .natvis visualizers there.

It would be great to be able to save the Exceptions configuration in the Debug -> Exceptions window into various profiles. Once saved, allowing us to switch between profiles would be a tremendous help when debugging a variety of projects.

            • Allow #region blocks to be indented much like they are in C#

This suggestion is migrated to Developer Community. Please use below link to view the current status.
              https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/content/idea/351226/allow-region-blocks-to-be-indented-much-like-they.html
In C# you can indent a #region block so that the region flows with the layout of your code. Unless I am missing something, this is not the case in VB.

              Example (C#):
              public class MyClass
              {

              +[VARIABLES]

              +[PROPERTIES]

              +[METHODS]
              }

              Example (VB):
              Public Class MyClass

              +[VARIABLES]

              +[PROPERTIES]

              +[METHODS]

              EndClass

                Hey Greg,

Thanks for the great suggestion. I agree that it would be nice to see these indented properly. I honestly couldn’t tell you the reason for this design choice but it applies to all preprocessing directives. Having said that, our team owns both the VB and C# code editor experiences and as we’re rebuilding them as part of Project “Roslyn” we’re trying to be on the look out for opportunities to make the experiences more consistent where it makes sense – this looks to me like one of those cases. The “Roslyn” based editing experience is not planned to be in the next release of Visual Studio but it’s certainly not to early to look at improving this. I’ll follow up with the right folks to see if I can make this happen :)

                Regards,

                https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/content/idea/351356/add-auto-reload-to-visual-studio-when-adding-c-scr.html
There is an option in Visual Studio to auto reload when changing a file as long as there are no unsaved changes, but there is no option to auto reload when adding files to a project.

Everytime adding a new script inside of Unity we get a prompt in Visual Studio to Reload/Reload All. It would be really nice to have UnityVS handle this since it happens a ton of times during the development of a project and it is something it really…

                • Expose a Workflow Service through REST/JSON endpoints

This suggestion is migrated to Developer Community. Please use below link to view the current status.
                  https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/content/idea/351219/expose-a-workflow-service-through-restjson-endpoin.html
It'd be great if we could call Workflow Services directly from an AJAX application through REST/JSON endpoints. The current inability to define a contract first when defining a Workflow Services prevents us annotating the contract with the [WebGet] attribute which would be the obvious way to enable both a SOAP and REST endpoint on the same service.

                  • Remember QuickWatch window column sizes

                    https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/content/idea/351263/remember-quickwatch-window-column-sizes.html
When you open the Quick Watch window all of the column widths resets themselves, so you have to resize every time to see the content of the object type in the last column. It would be useful if the size of the columns could be remembered by the IDE or at least sized in a better way.

                      Hi Everyone,
While this particular item doesn’t have many votes compared to other feedback on Visual Studio’s UserVoice, I have seen a surge of complaints recently about the annoyance this causes you. So I am re-opening this item as Under Review. We on the Visual Studio team have a bug filed to fix this issue. I will update you as we determine when/if to fix this.

I think include enterprise library as default framework will become handy as this will help for consistency. As my concern, I think most of development works now need dependency injection (unity), Logging tool and config tool. So why not put enterprise library as the first option

There has to be more "connectivity" between html/cshtml and javascript (and typescript).

For example pressing F12 in an ng-click attribute should bring me to the function in the javascript (or when typescript used to ts function).

Visual Studio 2015RC does not include an option to set the background color for the Intellisense popups.

The color can be changed by applying a different theme, but I prefer the lighter 'Blue' scheme and a custom dark/high-contrast text editor. Due to the new colorization of intellisense / signature window, I can't see all of the text and punctuation in the popup.

Being able to set the background color of this tool tip directly would be useful.

Thanks for the feedback, we are currently investigating what performance improvements we could make to give you a faster experience when debugging, particularly when the call stack walking is causing the slowness.

                                Thanks,

In the current code snippets infrastructure in Visual Studio are not context-aware, only Intellisense is context-aware.

For exapmle in the AngularJS app, when I write a "angular.module" then press "Tab" that should have a code completion feature for Angular module creation.

Also, when I type "angular.module('myApp').directive" then press "Tab" that should let us choose one of some useful code snippets for directive code template.

If Visual Studio can support this kind of code snippet feature. That will be very awesome! :)

                                  • F#: Implement a proper expression evaluator in the Visual Studio Debugger

I think it is disappointing that F# still (in Visual Studio 11) does not have it's own Expression Evaluator in Visual Studio when debugging.

                                    Simple things are annoying like:
                                    - not being able to watch, evaluate, or hover over a variable in F# that does not have a valid C# identifier
                                    - e.g. someBinding'
                                    - or ``The cool string type identifiers``

                                    - switching between syntaxes. It may seem sometimes that C# and F# are close enough, but there are some substantial differences. Evaluating…

I don't do any SQL development. I didn't even check anything web development related, so we can't blame this on ASP.NET --- I did C++ and Windows 10 SDK only. And yet I get this?

When a type (or it's properties) are marked [obsolete] the designer should surface those as designer compile warnings as well.
