Add ability to filter Comments Task List (aka TODO list)
In big solutions it is not uncommon to find numerous TODO comments scattered around multiple projects. By adding filter like the one in Errors (Open Documents, Current Project, Current Document) would help to find what you need. Or at least consider adding the Project column to the Task list, just showing the File name is not enough.
Thanks for all who provided feedback on this item.
I’m marking this item as completed on the basis that in Visual Studio 2015 Update 3, you can filter down the task list using the “Search Task List” box at the top right of the window. The Project column is now shown by default too. As a result, you can easily filter down to whatever you need (TODO, BUG, etc.).
Given this capability, we are not proposing adding any further filters to the Task List at this time, so I’m closing the item to give you back your votes. If you would still like to see more built-in preset filter buttons, feel free to start another item and we’ll track how many votes it attracts.
Thanks for your feedback and for using Visual Studio!

Thanx for your questions ...
I am currently using VS2015 Enterprise Update 1. The addition of the project column is a major improvement. I will be installing update 3 soon, so I look forward to explore the filter option. I think with this options, the TODO list is much easier to use, and needs no further improvements.
A filter for project, file or class would be great.
I suggest to actually move the todo to the error list, i.e. add a fourth category to the error list: Error/Warning/Message/Todo.
Would be really great if this is implemented. Just crawl yesterday thru a huge solution for a specific TODO comment. :-)

Totally agree - a list of dozens of 'todo' comments from a big solutions isn't much use unless you can either filter or customise the tag for your install of Studio, so you have the option of seeing only your own todo's.

Really, I can't believe that this functionality does not yet exist. +1, heck, +100! I'm not a huge fan of these "TODO" comments, but when you truly (temporarily) need one, and a legacy code base already has hundreds of these, it's nice to create a custom token and then be able to only view your token. Otherwise, what might be a helpful comment to be removed later just becomes another piece of persistent noise.

also if you could filter by "solution folder", or some such thing
to restrict the area of view, besides the above filter

I agree that a filter feature on the Task List would be a very useful feature.
