I suggest you ...

Commit first word suggested by instelliSense by commit keys in C++

In Visual Studio 2012 C++ InteliSense now gives suggestions immediately by typing letters, so the hitting Ctrl+Space in blank area is not necessary. It is very helpful and faster, but options are only "suggested" and it is not possible to commit them by "intellisense commit keys", such as bracket, dot etc. Only option is to hit Tab key, Ctrl+Space key or select "suggestion" by Up/Down arrow keys.

In most of cases the suggestion is right, so it would be helpful to "inverse" behaviour and always select suggestion. Hitting Escape key then can allow free typing.

    Thanks for taking the time to share this suggestion. This item has been around for a couple of versions of Visual Studio and we haven’t acted on it. Looking at the VS “15” plans, we’re not going to take action on this item, so we’re going to close it. If the suggestion is still relevant, please either take a look to see if there’s another suggestion that’s similar that you can vote on, or open a new suggestion.

        This option is now available in visual studio 2013 but not by default; to use it: go to Tools->Options

        ->Text Editor->C/C++ -> Advanced ->Intellisense -> Member List Commit Aggressive:
        change it from False to True;
