Implement a more advanced toolbar in the Rich Text Fields (e.g. Description, Acceptance Criteria, etc), so we can change (bare minimum) the font size and color, and also highlight text.

We have begun the work to update our rich text editor control in all text fields on the work item form. This work will be our first step in creating a better editing experience on the form.

Hello, when this is done, would it be possible to share whitelist of allowed html for integration purposes?

I hope tabbing with bullets will be included as well as a highlighter, huge sources of pain for our PO's!

I don't like colors or highlights in a patients' medical record. Not everyone has color printers and people have color vision issues. Changing fonts, bolding fonts is fine.

Please go for a standard like markdown. If not, it must be really well implemented (the bar is high, e.g. JIRA).

Please add the paintbrush copy format functionality.

I would also to add tables to the rich text editor in addition to previously mentioned common rich text features. It would be nice to create tables in the user story description / acceptance criteria rather than having to use a third party tool and copy the tables in. Tables are useful and the text field already supports them, just not the ability to create/edit.

yes. the current options are quite limited. In addition to what others mentioned, being able to use headers of different sizes would really help to organise longer text descriptions.

at least offer a "fixed font" button as a bare minimum.

that way, screen output/code/text tables can be properly viewed.

i personally don't need colors and fonts, just a simple *fixed font* option

Um, what the heck are you guys thinking? You can't even have the same basic formatting that gmail has? Come on. Bring basic text formatting back.

    From a Business Analyst...
Editing text in TFS is less than ideal due to a limited tool set. One must generate the formatted content in another tool, such as Word, and then paste it into TFS. And while it’s possible to edit that content in the tool, doing so will usually disrupt the formatting, at which point one must once again alter the content outside of TFS.

    This is very needed.
Include basic html tags and/or tables and the capabillity to strip existing formatting that has been pasted into the description fields etc.
