1. Allow excel to open work items from different projects at once.
its allowed to relate work items from different projects. but not open them in MS project or excel? it would be great to have this feature for release planning across projects.
2. Feature to open hierarchical query results in excel. It will help use excel reports in many more cases.

Initiative oversight rollup and capacity rollup would make Azure DevOps a fairly complete tool to scale out over the enterprise. For example, analyzing work across the enterprise portfolio that spans multiple projects, or analyzing capacity allocation across all projects to identify overallocation of individuals, or under-allocation of team staffing. The data is there, but it is not easy to get to. Does Microsoft have a vision that supports these stories?

        Thanks for the update.

It continues to be a challenge choosing which Microsoft tool to manage tasks with, without losing track of where tasks are.

Hope there is an update on this by late 2018? :) read all the comments way back 2013!

Great job on adding ability to query cross projects in TFS however this feature was only half done as cross project queries cannot be easily exported to .xls. Would be great functionality if you are doing cross project analysis on assignments trends, etc...

I agree that this is quite essential for multi-project Management. The work arounds suggesting one big team project for a whole organization are inappropriate.

Another point from my Point of view is that it is impossible to specify a fully qualified iteration path in a work item query. It always starts with the project name. Queries could be much more flexible if the path could start from the collection level.

It's about time to add this feature and have a support practical agile projects.

This is extremely important feature which is missing !
We are working in agile, we have many scrum teams and projects.
Customer project delivery usually consists several products which are managed in the TFS in different projects.
Today there's the option to link WI from project to project and the lack of exporting to excel is causing big issues mainly on the projects control & work planning.

        Thank you!
