  1. Links Control - Improved Filtering

On the Control Settings for a Links Control, it would be useful to not only be able to filter what type of work items will be displayed in the control, but also by the State of those work items.

  2. Add Test Plan/Suite creation to the Basic CAL

In my environment I have a team that could greatly take advantage of the organizational aspects of TFS Test Manager but really cannot use any of the features beyond that.

They are not developers and the environment we run in does not allow taking advantage of things like automated testing, the exploratory testing, and even the MTM application itself.

All they would do is create the Test Plans in the web interface then manually run the tests marking the results & making notes as they go.

We currently use a paper process with Word being the method of creating a…

  3. Support for getting identity information of accounts in VSTS

I used ReadIdentity(https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff731745(v=vs.120).aspx) to get the email address and display name of an account alias in TFS. I am trying to do the same in VSTS, but I am not finding anything that can do similar things in its REST API or Microsoft.VisualStudio.Services.* libraries.

  4. Update documentation deploy dotnet core 1.0 to azure

Your documentation on how to build and deploy a dotnet core 1.0 app to an Azure web apps is out of date (it refers to RC1 and the use of dnvm) now that 1.0 is released and there is no dnvm anymore. Can you please update your documentation? I'd really like to have continuous integration set up with your help.

  5. Make it possible to get history commit information for one specific BRANCH of a repository (and not the whole repository)

We are trying to automate some pieces of our Continuous Integration process flow and we tried to use VSTS API to get last commit ID of a specific Branch (inside a repository), but this is not supported today... it would be good to open that... agree?

  6. When queuing a new build manually, provide a way to disable/prevent the triggering of all continues integration releases after the build

When you have a very large build that produces multiple artifacts and have configured continues integration releases (lets say one for each artifact) to trigger after a build is completed.

It is often required to just make a new build and create a release for a single application that needs to be release manually.

Currently one have to clone the build definition and maintain both. Also results that multiple unnecessary clones of a repository exist on build agents. All just to prevent the configured CI releases from triggering.

Maybe allow one to specify some variable to the build like 'Release.Disable'…

  7. Add standard task for start, stop and swap azure service

At this moment there is no start task in release management to start, stop and swap an azure service. We have to do it with powershell scripts. It is not a clean solution. VS team should add standard task for it. It is a very common task.

  8. Increase timeout time to export the Test artifacts in TFS2015

It is great that TFS2015 have an inbuilt option to export the Test artifacts. But it gives Ajax timeout error where there is a large amount of data to be exported(I experienced this with a Test Plan of 400 Test Suites). It is suggested to increase the time out, so that we can get the data exported. Or any other solution would also be nice.

  9. Allow to add new SecurityGroups as part of ProcessTemplate Customazation in VSTS.

With On-Premise, we have full control on updating process template. At our company, we have many other reasons to go for separate team projects for each team.

Again, we are not following out of the box security groups. if we have a feature to add new security groups as part of process edit for VS team service, it would be great.

  10. Allow opting out of cloning share steps when cloning test plans

When cloning test plans, if associated test cases have shared steps, the cloning process also clones the shared steps. It would be great to have a way of opting out of cloning shared steps during the cloning process and just use the original shared steps.

  12. Accept both Azure AD accounts and Microsoft accounts

We have partners working in our backlogs using their own MSDN subscriptions/Microsoft accounts.

Then we have Product Owners and other stakeholders that would like to connect to the same backlog using their Azure AD accounts.

At the moment we can't have both. As connecting TS to AAD will prevent the off-shore development teams from connecting, we're forced to create outlook.com accounts for Product owners and other stakeholders, and hope they remember the additional credentials.

  13. Can't create team alerts for any team; just the default team

I need to create an alert for a specific sub-team when a new pull request is created in a specific repo to email *just* the members of that team to ensure that everyone appropriate sees PRs there, regardless of who is explicitly included as a reviewer. VSO only lets me create alerts for the default team of the whole project, which contains way too many people.

  14. Provide status reporting with Team Services

Currently, there is no easy way to generate and create Status Reports in Visual Studio Team Services since Team Services lacks the ability to integrate with Project Server.

Therefore, Team Services should provide standalone Status Reporting that can be used as part of Daily Scrum Standup meetings and Weekly status reports.

  15. Provide Project Server Integration with Team Services

Currently Project Server can be integrated with the on-premise version of Team Foundation server, but Project Server and all of its related features cannot be integrated with Visual Studio Team Services.

This integration functionality should be made available as well.

  17. File gets excluded every time the latest code is taken from TFS

    Let's understand the problem:
For our ASP.NET project using Visual Studio 2013 premium on a Windows 7 x64

    On developer A's machine:

    We've got a TFS setup
We added a new file A in the project
We checked-in the newly created file in the TFS source control
    On developer B's machine:

We've got the same TFS setup
We forcefully took the latest (by specific option - overwrite option) version
File A gets loaded in the project, however it stays excluded
Developer B manually includes the file in the project
We've a little big team, so for every developer. It happens…

  18. Pull Requests Load Balance Assignments

Pull requests would automatically be assigned a reviewer from a group. This should work in a round robin or load balancing way.

  19. Please provide a means for TFS to tag files with the changeset number.

When checking in a file, it should be tagged with the changeset in some manner. We maintain development, testing, staging, and production environments, and without version labeling, reconciling updates becomes a forensics exercise.

  20. Allow database backups to Azure BLOB storage

SQL 2012 SP1 CU2 and onwards has the ability to backup to Azure BLOB storage (backup to URL). I would like to see this enabled for TFS scheduled backups.
