      You can do this today:

      ```
      public void SomeMethod(int i)
      {
      if (i > 10)
      {
      int y = 2;
      Action<int> increment = x => { i += x + y; };
      increment(5);
      }
      doSomething(i);
      }
      ```

      It's not the syntax you suggested, but it does do the same thing.

        You might want to try CTRL+[, s. This command will open all necessary folders in the solution explorer, and will select the currently open file.

          We’ll send you updates on this idea

          We understand the importance of this scenario, but during the investigation we determined that future additions to the process customization will have better support to implement a real blocked scenario. We are going to hold off of this one for a little bit longer and wait until that work is finished. That does not mean that we forgot about this at all!

          As a work around you can add a blocked tag to your work items and use the tag coloring on the board to show these tags in red.

          @SamB - here's where we're at. We delivered conditional formatting on cards to VSO in July. See https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/news/2015-jul-7-vso. This isn't a "first class" blocked field... but does allow you to do what we're talking about in this item. This capability just missed our TFS 2015 deadline... but will be included in TFS 2015 update 1.

            Thanks for the suggestion. I understand you'd like to see more templates in VS using open source technology, is that correct? If so, you should probably change the title of this idea to reflect it, otherwise it's unlikely to get votes. As for Xamarin, it can now be installed as part of Visual Studio, without having to add it separately.

              Thank you for this feedback. I will merge this idea with the "Test Explorer is severely limited" idea for tracking.

                I wanted to update the status to make sure you know that we hear you. This isn’t straightforward to deliver for obvious reasons: Visual Studio installs a disparate variety of tools, runtimes and SDKs, many of which come from third parties or other parts of Microsoft. We recognize that developers would love to see something lighter and while we have nothing new to announce at this stage, we are spending a lot of time thinking about how we can improve Visual Studio installation.

                Thanks for the feedback!

                Thank you for submitting your idea. I have updated the category for this feature request to 'Debugger' so that it can be evaluated by the correct product team.

                    Thanks for the suggestion. It seems to me like the way to remove the redundancy in this code with current versions of C# is to write:

                    var data = new List<string>();

                      Hi @Craig Brett - Thanks for adding your input as well. I totally agree and would encourage you to add specific examples to the appropriate categories within UserVoice for each area. If you could also leave a copy of the links here too so I can make sure the teams see that issues that would be helpful. If something is truly broken however, please log a bug on Connect as that's the best way to get some traction there.

                      Please help us improve the accessibility of Visual Studio and VSO by completing this survey: http://aka.ms/VSAccessibilitySurvey. This will help give us insight in areas where we need to focus more on using the product and building accessible apps for others.

                        Including the second part of: https://visualstudio.uservoice.com/forums/121579-visual-studio/suggestions/3173458-improve-the-debug-exceptions-dialog

                        It should have some way to switch between some-enabled and all-disabled.
                        I usually run with Break on All Exceptions enabled, except for some harmless exceptions (COMException, InvalidAsyncState, Socket, and some others, depending on context). Sometimes, when running exceptionful code, I want to disable all of them. Right now, that loses my unchecked exceptions.

                        This could be a separate global "enable breaking" checkbox
                        Better yet, it could support "exception profiles", allowing you to save the current state and load it later (preferably with an MRU dropdown on the debug toolbar)

                                          If you think -you're- impatient imagine what it's like for those of us who have been working on it for the last three years :)

                                          It's important to realize that Roslyn isn't simply slapping together an awesome set of APIs but it's also the duplication of over ten years worth of work in that we're re-implementing both the VB and C# compilers and both of their IDE language services in different languages with a different architecture on a different platform. And implementing is the easy part - there's also a tremendous amount of testing required to ensure that code built with the existing compilers continues to compile with Roslyn and Visual Studio components which interact with the language services (e.g. the Windows Forms designer, Object browser, ASP.NET Web Forms, MVC Razor, WPF, external add-ins) continue to function all while we're simultaneously delivering new value with new language features (e.g. Async) which moves the goalpost a that much farther.

                                          Believe me, we can appreciate the desire to have Roslyn out there as much as you but as with all things we do (.NET took years, Generics took years, LINQ took years, Async took years) we're going to do it right and that means taking the time that's needed. When literally millions of VB and C# customers will be impacted by something it's important to measure twice and cut once.

                                          Regards,

                                          Anthony D. Green, Program Manager, Visual Basic & C# Languages Team

                                            We expect to make significant progress on this front in the upcoming release. There are some components which must be installed to the system drive for various reasons – for example, Windows hotfixes and .NET Framework releases. But we think we will be able to do a better job of honoring the chosen location in the next release.

                                            To give some transparency into the design process, one interesting wrinkle to this problem is third-party components that we install. If you choose to install Visual Studio to (say) D:\VS, where should we install something like Git for Windows or the Android SDK (if you select those components)? Should we install them into a subdirectory of D:\VS, even though other apps may use them? And should we attempt to secure the directory? C:\Program Files is only writeable by admin users, which presents a security boundary to rogue apps. Tough choices…

                                            Thanks,…

                                            Thank you for submitting your idea. We are currently limited by the requirement to install certain system components such as the .NET Framework to the system drive, so we are unable to address this suggestion immediately. However, we will keep this open so we can re-evaluate it for a future release.

                                            Thanks again,
