Hi all, this is great feedback, I just wanted to let you know that we have made some improvements to the way we handle agent assignment that should at least help prevent the scenario where all of the builds go to the agents on a single build machine despite having idle build machines with no busy agents.

For example, if you had 3 machines (A, B, C) and each has a few agents we will assign the builds to the agents by looking for an available agent on the most idle machine.

I'll leave this item open though since it has plenty of good ideas for giving you more control over the process.

      Thanks,
      Dennis

It's something we're very likely to pick up but it's unclear exactly when. Sorry, I know that's not the answer you were hoping for but I can say it's on the radar and comes up regularly now in our priority / backlog discussions.

What kind of size options would you be most interested in (in terms of Azure VM Role Sizes and Disk Sizes)?

Hi all, we currently have a few images cached on the Hosted VS 2017 image, including servercore and aspnet, you can view the list here in the github repo:
          https://github.com/Microsoft/vsts-image-generation/blob/master/images/win/Vs2017-Server2016-Readme.md

Aside from the sql one mentioned previously, do those cover what you need?

It should work similar to how many Azure resource limits work currently. There's a maximum you can buy through the standard UI and anything beyond that requires contacting Support to get the increase. One common reason for this is to avoid a large purchase from impacting availability, it gives the teams a heads up on the increase.

Another option is to use the more modern Pull Request flows in VSTS and set up Build Policies there that require successful builds before checking in the code.

Have you tried using the YAML Build features that have recently been added to VSTS? That may be pretty close to what you're looking for.

Have you tried the approach documented here:

                  https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/azuredatalake/2017/10/24/continuous-integration-made-easy-with-msbuild-support-for-u-sql-preview/

You may just need to add the nuget package if they've factored things well.

This is what I am thinking regarding this feature and wanted to seek your feedback:
                        1) You can add a tag such as TOC to add an automated TOC to a wiki page. If the tag is added, it will convert all HTML Tags

or all markdown headers preceded with # , ## etc. to a TOC at the top of the page.

My hypothesis is that 70% of the users would prefer to add a TOC therefore I would argue that we could add TOC to all pages in VSTSWiki by default when they are created so that users are spared to write it in each page.

                        2) In that case, users can remove TOC to not show the table of content.

Would love to hear your feedback on this.

Hi, thanks for the great feedback and brainstorming with me. I was also thinking to have TOC as part of the markdown so that if ever (I hope not) you were to migrate from VSTSWiki to another git based wiki (please don't do it ) you still have the TOC with you as long as we ensure that we follow a globally recognizable syntax such as _TOC_ or something similar.

Jan - since you were the only one requested a TOC on the side, I agree it is more functional since you can skim the TOC on the side. I was wondering whether making Wiki UX extensible so that you have the choice to put the TOC on the sidebar as well may help? Though I must say this is just brainstorming. I may create a separate user voice for this :)

You could use an Agentless Phase with the "Invoke REST API" task to do something like this.

For something potentially more fully featured you could take a look at: https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=infocaster.webapp-warmup

Work is still ongoing (was delayed due to other priorities) for our plan to bring multiple accounts (collections) backed by the same Azure AD into an organization. We are now looking at 2018 H2 for bringing this to a public preview. I will be able to provide a more precise timeline update around May 2018.

Can you please raise a bug @ https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/spaces/21/index.html regarding the issue you are facing with printing a wiki page.

When you export a hierarchy of pages, would you like to export it to PDF or would you expect other formats as well such as HTML, .docx, etc. or that does not matter much.

The best way to solve this would be to limit the query to include only the areas you want to see grouping on.

@Tugberk I just verified that I am able to trigger a CI by using a "refs/tags/*" branch filter in my VSTS build against a GitHub repository. Please contact me and I can assist you in debugging. daveken@microsoft.com

This should work today. Simply set refs/tags/* or refs/tags/<tagname> in the filters on the CI trigger.

I've moved this suggestion to the Release Management area, since they own the RM integration with Package Management.

Thanks for this suggestion. To clarify, if we provided the option to display percentages on our "Charts for Work Items" widget, that would meet your need?
