Why on earth would this not be already available?

We’ll send you updates on this idea

For the Find by Status feature, we’re working on an extension to add this capability back to VS. We don’t yet have an ETA for the availability, but I’ll update here when it’s ready.

For tfpt online, scorch, and treeclean, the functionality has been replaced by tf reconcile. If you use tfpt {command} /help, you’ll see a message about the specific options to use to get equivalent functionality with tf reconcile.

Tfpt uu doesn’t have a replacement in tf.exe. The old tfpt commands should continue to work against newer versions of TFS and VSTS.

        Thanks,
        Matt Mitrik

Where is the unshelve to a different branch? The workaround of manually comparing files and moving changes is a real pain.

That this works correctly when using sqlpackage.exe or the DacServices api means this is is a defect in Visual Studio and not really a feature request. Don't get me wrong, I'll take the bugfix any way I can.

Did you want to be so much like Git that you let TFVC lose history too? Version control history is supposed to be immutable.

if windows os disappoints you, why do you want the latest VS at all? Its far more buggy.

EF needs to either die or have its relational complications fixed.

5 years later, we have UWP but its kind of **** I don't think I'll use. They needed to bridge the windows + web development gap (not write windows apps in javascript FFS), kind of like web forms attempted to but did not really accomplish. Write one .net framework app, run it in a browser or desktop (windows, *nix, etc), without a ton of preprocessor directives or platform hacks.

Trying to get to the "one" by rewriting netfx as netcore seems like a waste of time. I don't get the choice to not just start rewriting sections of netfx that needed xplat.

Its also a pain that VS limits the result list of shelvesets to 100. After a few days of autoshelve, I can no longer find named non-autoshelve shelvesets.

Having a better search with negation as an option (all shelvesets but not ones starting with 'autoshelve') would also be useful.

MSFT should try using a product for more than 1 year before making limiting decisions like this.

We have a lot of investment taking place on our code review platform that will enable iterative code reviews, and we will initially bring that functionality to Git (via pull requests). Improving iterative code reviews for TFVC is still on our backlog, but it is not in our 6 month plan, so we are resetting the status.

@Visual Studio Tea - Git is stupidly dangerous. I don't want to have the ability to "whoops" an entire source control history. The point of having version control is so I don't lose changes.

The only time I need to use the "powerful" features of Git is to unfuck myself when I was trying to do things that should be brainless and missed some convoluted `--i -o --git-******` switch or vim command resulting in an "oh ****" moment.

Programming well is hard enough. Stop pandering to that ****** source control before your own, unless you are going to fix it's deficiencies.
