Related idea - allow to share code formatting and naming convention with the code.

Naturally, conventions applies to projects, not to individual developers. Conventions are here so every developers participating on particular project should follow it. Single developer may work on different project with different conventions.

Do you think that code-snippets and custom item templates distributed trough nuget would solve your case? They would be active only in projects that references the nuget packages.

For example, when you install Prism.MVVM you would get item templates like Page with ViewModel and code snippets like propnotify, etc, etc.

Additionally, you may introduce snippets and templates highly specific for your project, since basic page or user control will probably look differently for each project.

If you want to navigate from View to ViewModel, just press F12 (go to definition), in the d:DataContext declaration.

Vote for the idea here if you like it: https://visualstudio.uservoice.com/forums/121579-visual-studio-ide/suggestions/17776780-code-snippets-and-item-templates-distributable-tro

We’ll send you updates on this idea

As explained in this blog post (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/visualstudioalm/archive/2015/10/08/how-we-use-user-voice-to-make-a-better-product.aspx), we had updated the status of this suggestion to “Under Review” to let you know we are tracking it on our backlog. To better indicate which one we are actively working on or which ones are on our 6-month plan, we introduced the states “Started” and “Planned”. The goal is to give an update on in progress suggestions at least every 3 months. This suggestion is still on our backlog, but they are not part of the 6-month plan.

Imho, it would be nice if I could just drag&drop work items from Internet Explorer. I gues many developers use TFS web access.

Currently, it is possible to drag link to workitem from IE and drop it on comment textbox in VS's pending changes dialog. Slight modification would make it work with related work items.
