In our VSTS Feature Timeline(https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/vsts/release-notes/), you see a feature called “Dashboards – Create dashboard separate from a team” under “Reporting”

This feature will allow you to create a Dashboard that has no association with the team. This means you don’t need to create a team, to make a Dashboard. You can create any number of these Dashboards and share them with who you want.

As part of this feature you will also be able to create personal dashboards that only you can view/edit.

This has been requested by my developer and PM's a lot. They want to be able to set up their own dashboard for items that are important to them and not necessarily by anyone else. They also want to allow visibility by others (selectable), teams, the entire project or no one (private).

We are committed to supporting the ability to move projects between collections, however we’ve been unable to make progress on this feature. Unfortunately, the challenges highlighted in earlier posts are still present.
I don’t foresee us making progress on this feature within the next 6 months. We will provide an update once we start planning for the second half of 2019.

As explained in this blog post (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/visualstudioalm/archive/2015/10/08/how-we-use-user-voice-to-make-a-better-product.aspx), we had updated the status of this suggestion to “Under Review” to let you know we are tracking it on our backlog. To better indicate which one we are actively working on or which ones are on our 6-month plan, we introduced the states “Started” and “Planned”. The goal is to give an update on in progress suggestions at least every 3 months. This suggestion is still on our backlog, but they are not part of the 6-month plan.

Is there no direction from MS on this?

This would be great for when we do our true up with Microsoft. We need to know who is using TFS since we have no control over what users are added by Project Admins.

However, Dashboards will still be stored with a Team Project. So to address your scenario (cross-team-project Dashboard), you’ll just have to pick a team project to store the dashboard.

We don’t have immediate plans to store a dashboard outside a team project.

    Would love this feature also.

Totally agree. There is a free for all with Project Admins and the TFS Admin has no control over this.

I agree. Having a file comparison tool would be useful.

I agree. The Alerts aspect of TFS is a thorn in my side as an Admin and is difficult to administer. The subject line in Alerts are somewhat difficult to understand at times.

I agree with the below comments and this feedback. It is one thing to update the UI and capability of Pending Changes, but it seems this feature, which is crucial to us, has regressed rather than moved forward. Can we not implement the same functionality as we previously had into the new UI that was done?

I agree. When it comes to True up time, I face a challenge with auditing the user CAL's. It is a nightmare to have to admin.
