Are you able to use release environment variables, and model each product as an environment? You can scope same-named variables to an environment.

This landed at some point. Sweet! It is definitely useful.

So if I'm going from feature->integration, this is asking that VSTS be able to rebase feature onto integration HEAD if integration has been updated?

Would the rebase operation be destructive for other developers working on feature? What about build agents or forks? This seems like it would force a force pull.

We have had pretty good success in our "mostly gitflow" project by adding a comment in the pull request to sync from integration, if it looks like there are conflicts. In practice, this is a merge from integration->feature before completing the PR, rather than a rebase of feature onto integration. What would a rebase accomplish that the cleaner/safer merge does not?

I'm not sure what the current behavior is. What is the desired result? Should the pull request "diff" be more of a snapshot (and not receive live updates), or is it currently too much like a snapshot, and the suggestion is that it should receive a new view in "diff" when either branch changes? There is the Updates feature now, which allows you to view several point-in-time comparisons between the source and target branches in the pull request.

As pull requests move closer to becoming first class entities, it seems proper to reuse the mnemonic of the existing tags feature.

Sometimes we do this by adding a comment and linking the other pull request with the ! hotkey. The policy checks that all comments are resolved. In our project, this is rare and case-dependent though because branches/pull requests tend to be independent. When there is a dependency, merging branch A into branch B as part of branch B's pull request is usually sufficient.

We use a modified gitflow on our current project, with controlled deployments to different tiers. It would be helpful to be able to filter active pull requests by their target integration tier.

Workaround: when using the task group in a release definition, define a release variable $(empty) with no value, and assign the task group variable the value $(empty).

Workaround: When using a Task Group in a Build, create a Variable set as secret in the Build. Reference this variable like `$(mySecretVariable)` when filling out the text field for the task group parameter value.

Enabling users to customer their column on the task board, has been an outstanding wish for us for a long time. A year ago we were planning to pick this one up, but unfortunately we were not able to get to it because of other priorities. We have kept the state of the user voice item as Planned for a long time, as it was always on the edge of being picked up.

In our latest planning cycle, it is clear that it is still high on our list, but we won’t be able to get to it in the next 3-6 months. In a few months we will have our next planning cycle, and it will be again one of the features that we desperately want to deliver to you. I hope to have better news in a few months. Sorry.
